Using Picklist Centre

Using Picklist Centre

From the 2nd November 2019 updating picklists within SuccessFactors will change from Picklist Management (exporting and importing picklists) to Picklist Centre.  More information on the attached document.

Background

In our continued efforts to bring our customers the best-in-class functionality we are upgrading administrative tools for picklist management and migrating legacy picklists to the Picklist Center. This migration will leverage SAP SuccessFactors Metadata Framework (MDF)and provide a simplified approach to picklists including:

A single location where picklist information is stored for Employee Central, Recruiting, Talent, and Employee Profile.
The ability to make changes directly in the new Picklist Center. Customers will no longer have to export existing picklists, edit them in an offline spreadsheet, and re-import the updated file for a single label change.

Maintenance across SuccessFactors instances and external environments will be simplified by using unique external codes. By requiring unique external codes, picklists and picklist values will be easily identifiable and therefore easier to manage across environments.

This is a quick guide on how to update pickists in Picklist Centre after the change on the 18th May 2019:

Using Picklist Centre

  1. Verify the field you wish to update (you may need to also look up in the back-end in manage templates to find what the field is called and the picklist id that is being used if you are not sure) below is an example of a field in Requisition Template;

  2. On the Action tool bar type and select "Picklist Centre";

  3. In the "Picklist Search", search and select for the picklist id you wish to update

  4. Select "Insert New Record"

  5. Use "Today's Date" as default and select "Proceed";

  6. In the next available row type an External Code (unique), Non-unique External Code (can be the same as the External Code), Parent Picklist Value (If Parent/Child picklist ONLY), Label you want on the picklist value;  Then click on "Save";

  7. Record is now saved, you will see the History on the left hand side of the screen updated and a new effective date listed.

  8. Validate in the UI that the new picklist value has saved successfully.
